YEE EARNS TOP FIVE SPOT AT PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Trinity Western's Regan Yee (South Hazelton, B.C.) finished fifth at the BC Cross Country Championships to lead a strong Spartans contingent Saturday at Clearbrook Park.

Competing against familiar TWU alums in Sarah Inglis and Lisa Brooking, Yee put herself in a good position to finish five in 19:15 over six kilometres.

Mirelle Martens (Grande Prairie, Alta.) was 15th in 20:07, while Jouen Chang (Langley) was 23rd in the senior race and second overall amongst junior racers. Chang recorded a time of 20:38. Fellow junior Bailey Haugan (Fort St. John, B.C.) was fourth in her category and 29th overall in 21:03.

Mikaela Smart (Maple Ridge, B.C.) rounded out TWU's top five with a time of 21:14.

Spartan alums Inglis finished second overall in 18:47, while Brooking was fourth in 19:12.

UP NEXT
The Spartans will now prepare for the U SPORTS Championships Nov. 12 at Beacon Hill Park in Victoria.
