BROOKING FINISHES EIGHTH OVERALL AT NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

KINGSTON, Ontario – Trinity Western's Lisa Brooking (Orillia, Ont.) finished eighth overall at the 2016 Canadian Cross Country Championships to lead the Spartans women Saturday.

Brooking, who finished fourth at the U Sports championships two weeks ago, crossed the line in 34:35.4 over the 10 kilometre race.

In the junior women's race, TWU's Joanna Williams (Campbell River, B.C.) finished 24th and Mikaela Smart (Maple Ridge, B.C.) was 29th. Williams finished the six kilometre race in 22:21.1, while Smart finished in 22:34.4.

Williams was 38th at the U Sports championships, while Smart was 47th overall
