    LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western’s Hilary Howe (Calgary) and Kristen Moncks (Standard, Alta.) will represent Canada at the 2019 Pan American Games, as they were named to the women’s volleyball team that will compete in Lima, Peru (Aug. 2-11).

    LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western University has three athletes competing at the 30th Summer Universiade in Napoli, Italy, with Elizabeth Hicks (Surrey, B.C.) and Kristen Sakaki (Surrey) on Canada’s women’s soccer team and Hilary Howe (Calgary) on Canada’s women’s volleyball team.

    LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western women’s volleyball setter Brie King (Langley) will get her first opportunity to play with Canada’s senior women’s team as she is set to don the Maple Leaf at the Pan Am Cup in Trujillo, Peru (July 4-15). King will join Spartan alums Kristen Moncks (Standard, Alta.) and Alicia Perrin (Creston, B.C.), who were named to the Canadian roster that will compete in both the FIVB Volleyball Challenger Cup in Lima, Peru (June 26-30) and the Pan Am Cup.

    LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western’s Canada West champion women’s volleyball team will open the 2019-20 regular season on the road against long-time rival Alberta (Oct. 18-19) in a rematch of last year’s CW semifinals, before returning to the Langley Events Centre to host Winnipeg in its home-opening weekend Oct. 25-26.

    LANGLEY, British Columbia –This past week Volleyball Canada announced the players (18) who will make up the national team roster for the upcoming Women’s Olympic Qualifier in Russia, August 2-4, 2019 as well as other select international competitions. Along with the Senior A team announcement Volleyball Canada also listed the Next Generation squad, which has 13 players.

    When the Trinity Western women’s volleyball coach Ryan Hofer first saw Alison Quiring playing, he was impressed. What he saw was a talented athlete from Brandon, Man. with great height who could move amazingly well for her height. She even had an older sister, Angelica Quiring, who was already an established player with the Calgary Dinos. Then, after a visit to TWU during that same year, Quiring liked what she saw and committed.

    EDMONTON – The MacEwan Griffins pulled off their second upset of the weekend by beating the No. 2 Trinity Western Spartans 3-1 (25-16, 26-24, 22-25, 25-14) to put the wraps on the biggest weekend result in program history. The victory comes a night after they beat the Spartans 3-2 and is their third in a row over national championship contenders after they defeated former No. 1 Calgary last weekend.

    CALGARY - The first-place Trinity Western Spartans took the opening match of the weekend defeating the Mount Royal Cougars 3-1 Friday night at Kenyon Court in Calgary Alberta. The 25-21, 25-18, 14-25, 27-25 win improves the No. 3 Spartans to 17-2 in Canada West play, while the loss drops the Cougars to 9-10.
