WEBBER LEADS SPARTANS AT POLE VAULT OPEN

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western's Kirsten Dunford (Bellingham, Wash.) put together her best ever performance in a Spartans uniform, clearing 3.80m to finish first at the Spartans Pole Vault Open Saturday at the David E. Enarson Gym.

The second-year Dunford, who bettered her previous indoor record of 3.67m, missed out the automatic qualifying standard for the U SPORTS national championships by one centimetre. Webber's personal best outdoors is 4.06m.

TWU's Madison Evans (Calgary) was second with a clearance of 3.65m.

The Spartans are back in action next weekend when they compete in the University of Washington Invitational Jan. 27-28 in Seattle.
