SPARTANS KNOCK OFF WARNER PACIFIC IN PRESEASON ACTION

PORTLAND, Ore. – Trinity Western's women's basketball team earned a 78-68 win over Warner Pacific Saturday at CC Perry Gym.

TWU scored at a 58 percent clip from the field (32 of 55). Kayla Gordon (Prince George, B.C.) scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the team.

The host Knights experienced a cold-shooting first half, which allowed TWU to build a lead that reached as many as 20 points in the second quarter. WP then found their scoring touch in the 3rd quarter and cut the gap to a little as nine points (60-51) but could draw no closer.

Kendyl Cone led WPC with 13 points on 5 of 5 shooting in her Knight debut. Bailey Allen and Kordan Kujawski added nine points each.
