DE JONG FINISHES FOURTH AT PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS TO LEAD SPARTANS

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Trinity Western's Caleb De Jong (Winnipeg) finished fourth at the BC Cross Country Championships to lead the Spartans Saturday at Clearbrook Park.

De Jong was the Spartans top finisher for the second consecutive race, clocking a time of 22:57 over the eight kilometer route.

Declan White (South Surrey, B.C.) was TWU's second best finisher, crossing the line seventh overall in 23:12. Levi Neufeld (Winnipeg), who was 18th in 23:46, Tyler De Jong (Langley, B.C.), who was 22nd in 24:15 and James Lam (Langley), who finished 23rd in 24:15, rounded out TWU's top five.

Spartan alum Joel De Schiffart was 10th in 23:25.

UP NEXT
The Spartans will now prepare for the U SPORTS Championships Nov. 12 at Beacon Hill Park in Victoria.
