WHITE FINISHES FIFTH AT BC CHAMPIONSHIPS, COLYN WINS JUNIOR TITLE

NANAIMO, British Columbia – Fourth-year Declan White (South Surrey, B.C.) led the way for the Spartans at the BC Championships, finishing fifth overall, while second-year Nick Colyn (Langley) won the junior division Saturday at Beban Park.

White finished the eight kilometre race in 24:34 to set the tone for the Spartans. Not far behind him was third-year Caleb de Jong (Winnipeg), who finished eighth overall in 24:41.38.

Colyn finished 13th overall in 25:00, but with his performance, he earned top spot amongst junior runners.

White has now finished in the top five in all three of TWU's races this year, with a first place finish at the University of Washington's Sundodger Open and a third place finish at the University of Western Washington Classic.

The Spartans will now undergo final preparations for the CIS championships Nov. 12 in Quebec City.
