WEISS POSTS HIGH JUMP PR IN HEPTATHLON ON DAY 1 AT U SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS

WINDSOR, Ont. – Competing at the U SPORTS championships for the first time in his career, Trinity Western's Chris Weiss (West Vancouver, B.C.) cleared a high jump personal record 1.74m and to cap the first day of the heptathlon, putting himself into 10th overall at the U SPORTS Championships at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.

Weiss, who was the only Spartan athlete competing on the first day of the national championships, has 2311 points through the first four events. His high jump mark bettered his previous best of 1.70m.

Weiss will complete the heptathlon Friday, with the 60m hurdles, pole vault and the 1000m.
