BROWNS WINS TRIPLE JUMP TO LEAD SPARTANS AT UW PREVIEW

SEATTLEDenzel Brown (Coquitlam, B.C.) missed the Spartans triple jump record by just two centimetres, as he earned top spot in the competition with mark of 14.42m at the University of Washington's Indoor Preview at Dempsey Indoor.

On his final jump of the day, Brown, whose triple jump mark was an indoor personal best, capped a tidy season-opener, in which he also jumped 6.54m in long jump.

In the pole vault pit, TWU had a strong opening day, with Nathan Dunford (Bellingham, Wash.) and David Boyd (Victoria) both clearing 4.61m.

Former Spartan Aaron Postma (Abbotsford, B.C.) set the TWU triple jump record at 14.44m at last year's Canada West championships.
