GEORGE THIRD IN 400M AT UW HUSKY CLASSIC

SEATTLE – Trinity Western's Nathan George (Coquitlam, B.C.) finished third overall in the 400m in 47.60 at the prestigious University of Washington Husky Classic Saturday at Dempsey Indoor.

With his 400m time, George earned the U SPORTS qualification equivalent standard for the 300m event.

In the mile event, Declan White (South Surrey, B.C.) posted his best time of the season, crossing the line in 4:07.06 to finish 38th overall. He bettered his last performance by more than 11 seconds, as he had clocked a time of 4:18.59 at the Washington State University's Cougar Indoor one week ago. With his converted time, White will move into the top eight in the national rankings in the 1500m. White entered the weekend with the fastest 3000m time, 8:06.39, amongst U SPORTS athletes this year.

TWU's James Lam (Langley, B.C.) had a season's best in the 800m, finishing 39th overall in 1:53.78, bettering his previous season's best of 1:54.62.

The Spartans will remain in Seattle for the UW Open Sunday.
