UNBEATEN SPARTANS HOST SELKIRK FRIDAY

LANGLEY, B.C. – The unbeaten Trinity Western men's hockey team hosts the third-place Selkirk Saints the Spartans lone game this weekend Friday at the Langley Event Centre.

Friday, Oct. 26 vs. Selkirk College – 7 p.m. (PT)

THE WEEKEND STORY
• This will be the first time the Spartans meet Selkirk since last season's BCIHL Championship series, at which the Spartans took home the championship banner.
     o TWU beat the Saints 5-1 (Game 1) and 4-1 (Game 2) to capture its first-ever league title.
• Last season the Spartans bettered the Saints in six out of the seven games they played, including playoff games, giving them a record of 6-1 over Selkirk.
     o The lone game Selkirk took the win was in their first meeting of the season last year, Nov. 10 (5-2).
• TWU is looking to remain undefeated this season, with a record of 3-0 coming off a bye weekend.
• Selkirk on the other hand, is looking to pick up its second win of the season, the last one coming over Simon Fraser University in the first game of the season. Since then they have lost three straight, making the 1-2-1 on the season.
• TWU's Lucas Mills (Burnaby, B.C.) sits second in the BCIHL with a 1.51 goals against average (GAA) and a 0.926 save percentage (SV%).
• Selkirk's Tallon Kramer (Grand Prairie, Alta) sits sixth on the league leaders list with a 4.49 GAA and a .903 SV%.
• The Spartans are coming off a weekend in which they travelled to Minnesota to play NCAA Div. III Hamline University (2-1 OT win) and NCAA Div. I University of Minnesota (7-1 L).
• Through three games, TWU forward Evan Last (Surrey, B.C.) (2G, 3A) and defenceman Dustin Deugau (Calgary) (5A) are tied for the Spartans team lead in points.
• Edward Lindsey leads Selkirk in points, with two goals and four assists in four games.
