SPARTANS FALL TO NIPISSING AT RON & JANE GRAHAM SHOOTOUT

SASKATOON – Trinity Western lost 99-80 to Nipissing Friday in the Ron & Jane Graham Shootout.

Vartan Tanielian (Surrey, B.C.) led TWU with 18 points on the night, while Josiah Meppelink (Langley, Wash.) added 13 points. Josiah Allison had a team-high six rebounds to go with eight points.

Nipissing's Justin Hill had a game-high 29 points, while Jordan Roberts had nine boards.

TWU shot 43.5 per cent from the field, while Nipissing shot 49.3 per cent.

The Spartans were out-rebounded 40-33.

After being outscored in each of the first three quarters, TWU bounced back in the fourth quarter to outscore the Lakers 25-20.

The Spartans play MacEwan Saturday at 12 p.m. (PT) in TWU's final preseason game.

TWU opens the Canada West regular season Oct. 26-27 at home against UBC Okanagan.
