LANGLEY, British Columbia – For the second week in a row, the Trinity Western women’s soccer team is No. 1 in the U SPORTS Top 10. In the first cross country rankings of the season, the Spartans women’s team is No. 10.

The women’s soccer team earned back-to-back road wins, beating Manitoba 1-0 and Winnipeg 3-0. The Spartans are back at home this weekend to host MacEwan Friday and UNBC Saturday. Both games start at 5 p.m. (PT).

The Spartans cross country teams will compete in the Vancouver Spirit Run this Sunday at Jericho Beach Park.

New this season, U SPORTS is implementing the ELO Rating System for the calculation of its weekly national rankings for soccer. Powered by RankR, ELO’s unique algorithm blends a statistical calculation with customized variables that is adaptable across a range of sports.

The cross country rankings are still based on coaches’ votes.
