U SPORTS TOP 10 | MEN’S VOLLEYBALL NO. 1, WOMEN’S BASKETBALL NO. 10

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western’s men’s volleyball team returned to No. 1 in the U SPORTS Top 10, jumping back up atop the rankings after a week at No. 2. The Spartans women’s basketball team remained at No. 10 for the third week in a row.

Coming off a weekend sweep of No. 10 Calgary on the road, the Spartans (19-1) moved up to No. 1, where they have been ranked in all but one week this season. The Spartans return home this weekend for a monster match-up against the No. 2-ranked UBC Thunderbirds. TWU hosts the Thunderbirds Friday before playing at UBC Saturday.

On the basketball court, the Spartans women’s team stayed at No. 10 following a season-ending weekend sweep of MacEwan. TWU (16-4) earned a first round bye in the Canada West playoffs for the first time in program history and will to the court Feb. 15-17 when they will host a best-of-three quarter-final series.
