LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western men’s and women’s cross country teams will be competing Saturday morning at the 2015 Canadian Cross Country Championships in Kingston, Ontario.
“We're sending a large contingent of athletes who will be looking to make inroads at the Senior and Junior levels in Canada,” commented TWU cross-country coach Mark Bomba. “Fourth year Lisa Brooking (Orillia, Ont.) and third year Regan Yee (South Hazelton, B.C.) who will be looking for top 10 placing at the Senior Women’s race. And on the men’s side third year Declan White (South Surrey, B.C.) and fourth year Joel De Schiffart (Nanaimo, B.C.) are hoping to rebound after a disappointing CIS championship.”
Also representing TWU women will be second year Mirelle Marens (Grande Prairie, Alta.), who was fourth last year in the Junior women’s race will gunning for a podium spot (top 3).
On the junior men’s side Spartans second year James Lam (Langley, B.C.) and second year Tyler Dejong (Langley, B.C.) will be representing Team BC, while second year Caleb Dejong (Winnipeg) has a good chance to place in the top 5-10. Rookie Nick Colyn (Langley, B.C.), is also on team BC, but is age eligible to take a chance at making this springs Canadian Junior team.
