MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY MOVES TO NO. 3 IN CIS TOP 10, WXC NO. 4, WSOC NO. 9

LANGLEY, British Columbia – After an impressive showing at the University of Washington’s Sundodger Invitational, the Trinity Western men’s cross country team moved up to an all-time program best No. 3 in the CIS Top 10, while the women’s cross country team comes in at No. 4 this week and the women’s soccer team is No. 9.

With the Spartans winning the team title at the Sundodger Open, the squad jumped from No. 5 to No. 3. This week’s poll not only has the men’s team higher than ever before, it also marks the first time the Spartans men’s team has been ranked higher than their female counterparts.

Despite Sarah Inglis (Falkirk, Scotland) winning the Sundodger Invitational and the Spartans putting three athletes in the top seven of the NCAA Division I competition, the team dropped from No. 3 to No. 4.

Both cross country teams will now prepare for the Western Washington Classic on Oct. 10.

On the pitch, the women’s soccer team fell to No. 9 after picking up a win and a tie this weekend against Thompson Rivers and UBC Okanagan, respectively. The Spartans drew the Heat 1-1 Friday before beating the WolfPack 3-0 Saturday.

The men’s soccer team remains unranked following back-to-back home losses to now No. 4 UBC and No. 10 Victoria.
